What a unique and clever concept! Celestial beings and demonic bureaucrats in a corporate hell. I love the clever play on words and concepts that Carlton brings to the story. Mel is a likeable character, although sometimes a little too good (but hey, she's an angel) and Luce is ... ahem ... interesting (in a sometimes lecherous way)! Don't be a purist about angel/devil mythology because there's plenty of mythological crossover to be had, but if you work in an office in the CBD, this would be the perfect way to reimagine your colleagues. The social scenes were good fun and the angel and demon dichotomy handled humorously, with fine line between good and bad often danced. The story can tend towards a slower pace at times, and I heard myself groan at how many times Mel inadvertantly bared her knickers, but overall it was a fun, funny romp.

LAUGH OUT LOUD AMAZING.
This book is sooooooooooooo different than anything else in the book world. Love the spin.

I absolutely love is series. None of the books in this series has disappointed me yet. I'll be getting the rest as i can afford them. Demelza is a great author, Ive read several of her books and have enjoyed every one of them.
This series is great. I give the whole series an A. Fans of MaryJanice Davidson will love this series as Mel reminds me a lot of Betsy. It was hard to put the tablet down once I started reading these books. The author does a great job of breathing life into the characters. The way Mel wins over every demon she encounters and the hilariousness that ensues is wonderful. Luce is wonderful. I love this take on him.
I usually don't bother with a book touted as paranormal but too a chance with this one. I am so glad I did. I was thoroughly entertained from the start to the finish. Chuckles and out right guffaws. Different than anything I have ever read . Thank you Demelza Carlton for taking me out of this crazy world for a few hours and dropping me into HELL
This was the first I've read this author. The set was so good I was truly disappointed to finish it!
In fact, it was so good that I tried one of her books in a different series (loved that too!).
You'll love Mel, and learn to love Luce.
If you love the "Lucifer" TV show, you need to read this set!!
I wish there were more stars that I could give this!! I didn't know what to expect when I was asked to review this series, but after reading a bit about the author, I wanted to support. But, my oh my, this series really took me to where u didn't know I wanted to be!! I loved the characters (although I'm certain my husband would have preferred me not threatening to kill them loudly while he tried to sleep) and I lives the story line. I am now eagerly soaking up the rest of the available titles from this talented author and I can see myself rereading the available titles if she doesn't release new material quickly enough.
Mel Goes To Hell Series

Book 1 – Welcome To Hell
This short story was lots of fun to read. Mel hates interviews in the best of times. Add in the glimpse of a forked tail, demonic-red glowing eyes, and a sleazy CEO – and she can’t escape their interview room fast enough. The down-side? She really, really needs to get the job.

Book 2 – See You In Hell
Having landed the temp job she interviewed for at the HELL Corporation, Mel is super glad the CEO is away from the office on other business. Her mission is to discover his evil plans (and prevent them by any means necessary), but her attraction to him clouds her mind when he’s around.
Her sweetness and empathy cause her co-workers to re-evaluate how they behave and treat others. Her gentleness inspires their loyalty – something their CEO is horrified to discover when he returns from travel.
I laughed my way through this hilarious story. So many plays on terms and figures we’ve only had glimpses of from other sources.
I highly recommend this story.

Book 3 – Mel Goes to Hell
Well, now he’s truly done it – Lucifer has fallen horns over tail for an angel.
Mel fights her way through the nine levels of Hell to reach him and prove her love for him is more than just fleeting.
The obstacles she faces are intense at times, but she is helped by several familiar faces from the office.

Bonus Book – Melody Angel’s Guide To Heaven And Hell
I have to admit I didn’t get too very far in this part – maybe about 1/3 of the way through it. (I’ll blame it on the attention-deficit thing.) What I did have a chance to read was interesting and very informative – info I’d not read before.
