So confession time. I have had this book for awhile. Why did you take so long to read it you might ask? Well Kristen Ashley is my favorite author and there is nothing like getting to read her books for the first time. I re-read her Colorado Mountain Series, Rock Chick Series, Burg Series, Magdalene Series, Dream Man Series, Unfinished Heroes Series and Chaos Series all of the time. I love re-reading these books. But the feeling of getting to read a Kristen Ashley book the first time is magical and special to me. (Please note that I have a lot of favorite authors that I love and I also re-read their books, but KA is my absolute favorite author and is on an island all her own for me). Now you are thinking "Will you please tell us what that has to do with this review?" Yes I will. Heaven and Hell has been added to my re-read list because it is so wonderful. I am also happy I saved it to have a Kristen Ashley book I had not read yet during a time when really no other new books that I tried to start were holding my interest (sometimes that happens to me and when it does I usually do a KA re-read). Heaven and Hell is a superb book. It took me through all of the feels. I stayed up all night reading it. I could not put it down and I mean I really was physically unable to put it down I was so involved with this story. Sam and Kia will steal your heart like they stole mine. This book has a sexy alpha, sassy heroine, is funny, emotional, extremely sexy (hot sex scenes), charming, has fantastic characters, is well written and is such a great story. If you are a fan of KA then one-click this book right now because you need to read this book. If you are new to KA then one-click this book and all of the books in the series I listed above because those series and books are among my all time favorites.Tags : Heaven and Hell - Kindle edition by Kristen Ashley. I don't even know where to start I loved this book so much! Heaven and Hell by Kristen Ashley had me captivated by page one. I don't know what it was about Sampson Cooper and Kia Clementine, but I just couldn't get enough.
Like all of Kristen Ashley's bad*ss characters Sam was flawed in so many ways. Truly I think this is why I love her books so much! Regardless of those flaws he remained the perfect guy and exactly what Kia needed. I mean how could he not be flawed. He was haunted by the death of his brother while serving his country, joined up to honor his brother and then lost his very best friend tragically, yet he carried on every day.
Kia suffered terrible abuse at the hands of her husband, yet it never made her weak or afraid to live. I admired her in so many ways. Her strength, zest for life and overall friendliness made me want to know her in real life or be her in real life.
The supporting characters made this book that much better. I am absolutely in love with the community of Kingston, North Carolina. I just know there are more stories to come from this group and I can't wait.
Side note The ending of this book rocked! I loved, loved, loved it!

What a fun and emotional read. For seven long years Kia has lived through Hell. She marries her high school sweetheart, who turned out to be a lying, cheating and abusive loser. She has always dreamed of a better life, and Kia suddenly finds herself rich and single. Taking advantage of her new life, she takes a trip of a lifetime and meets Sampson Cooper. Sampson is a football star and national hero, and someone who Kia has admired and dreamed about. When they meet their connection is immediate and they begin a beautiful romance. When Kia's life is threatened, Sampson does everything he needs to do to protect her. They both struggle with opening up and trusting one another, but in the end they realized what and who is important. Loved the ending.
Heaven and Hell is Kia's story.
Her life is everything you expect from fiction but it also everything that happens in reality.
Kia was abused by her husband. He was killed, she got the insurance money, learned he hired a hitman to kill her and live happily with his lover.
After her husband died, Kia turned her life around. She took a long vacation in Europe where she met her celebrity crush Sam.
Kia and Sam hooked up early on in the book. Sam was protective but Kia was guarded. She shared with Sam but not everything.
As things progressed between them, Sam and Kia came back to the US, Sam net Kia's family. Secrets and regrets were revealed.
Kia had a lot of healing to do, and she also had to deal with the hitman send to kill her.
Sam took on the job of protecting her with help from his friends (Lee among them!!!).
While Kia was open and working towards building something new with Sam, he was keeping secrets. He hadn’t dealt with his past and his brother's death.
Naturally that caused friction between them. Kia wanted to be an equal in the relationship and Sam had to let her in.
Loved the book, the issues he dealt with, the strength of the heroine, her family and friends, supporting her in everything and helping her move on to something better and satisfying.
Classic Kristen Ashley. This book exists in the Rock Chick/The Burg Universe, although it's not apparent until about 2/3 the way in. I might have squealed when I realised! This book reminded me of why I love KAs Heros. They have an emotional intelligence underneath their alpha facade. It can be hard to deal with some of the ways they apply that intelligence as it can feel like they bully their way through, but its usually in a "tough love" way. As always I come away wanting to borrow a little of the heroine's personality and having more men, like the hero, in my life.
CW/TW Discussion of domestic abuse.
